The Trifecta of Career Success: Passion, Networking, and Lifelong Learning

Interview transcription

Orador 1

Well, dad, I'm going to interview you about your professional life because you have a lot of experience. So I'm going to start with the questions, what made you decide to work in the automotive industry?

Orador 2

No, well, first of all, since I started my working life, I had to join Nissan Mexico. And since I was a kid, I was very interested in mechanics.

Orador 1

O K. What do you enjoy most about your current job?

Orador 2

Teaching people based on my experience, I've had the opportunity to apply my knowledge to the new generations. What's coming? And what I like is that people approach me and ask me how to do a certain process, and that's what I enjoy the most.

Orador 1

O K. What has motivated you to be a better professional during all these years?

Orador 2

Well, the commitment to my work and to myself, since I am a very ethical person when it comes to my work.

Orador 1

O K. What do you consider to be or is your greatest achievement?

Orador 2

As a professional, even though I did not have the opportunity to study, I basically did my high school when I was already married. What has given me the most satisfaction is that I have learned a lot from many people. Engineers who did study and who have opened up to me so that I can be a better worker. Apart from that, applying what they taught me. And the satisfaction of knowing that the new generations are interested, not so much in technology, but in how to know how to do certain things.

Orador 1

O K. What lessons do you leave to your colleagues that you instruct?

Orador 2

Well, basically, as I told you before, the commitment to their work, because... Because when you enter a company, at least in my case, I try to abide by and comply with the rules established by a certain company. Because we have to abide by a regulation or laws in the company where you are working, you have to follow those rules or abide by them so that the work turns out well and work as a team.

Orador 1

What is the most difficult thing about supervising other workers?

Orador 2

The most difficult thing is when people don't want to. When you tell them how to do things and they insist on doing things the way they want, everything must be done under a pro. So you? My job fortunately has been to make procedures or to make this type of standard be done so that all the people who come to work in any industry with any company do it under that procedure and that regardless of whether they have studies or not, they do the operation. Or do the work the same as everyone else.

Orador 1

Well, Dad, that would be all, thank you very much for your answers.
