Orador 1

Hello we are going to be talking about recipes about our favorite foods and it's cultural aspects about them. I'm Google and I'm going to be talking about Molly.

Orador 2

Hello everyone. My name is Jimena and I'll be talking about the Paya.

Orador 3

Hi Angeles and I'm going to talk about lasagna.

Orador 4

I'm Julie and I'm going to talk about sushi.

Orador 1

Well, about the mole, it's a Mexican dish and recipe. I think mole is special because it's my favorite food and it's part of a culture. I think all Mexican food is an important part of our culture and how we relation ate with other people. It could be. Between Mexicans. And between people around the world, food is a symbol of union between uh persons and people and, for example, mole, I think when you eat it. It's when it's a specific date or when you're celebrating something. It's reserved for, like weddings and parties. And patriotic dates and celebrations in general and. Plus, it's made out of. So many things and so many ingredients. It has various types of chillies. It has bolillo, it has chocolate. And yeah, I think it's very weird that it actually tastes good, but I don't know what do. You think?

Orador 4

I think that these kind of recipes or dishes has a unique way to be prepared and also the mix of cultures because I I heard that specifically this dish is a mix between Spanish and Mexican culture. Uh, I'm not sure if the history is like that, but there was, like, women that was preparing food for some Spanish people that were coming to Mexico and they decided to create a new dish that has chocolate, tomatoes, chillies. And like a mix of a lot of things that are. Like. Receiving both cultures and as you said, I think that these kind of dishes or recipes are prepared when we have special dates like Independence Day, birthdays, weddings or something like that. So it's something like a symbol. Of unit and union between the people.

Orador 3

I I agree with with yell. I think that the food is really representative of the culture and the country in the food. The country reflects all of the traditions and all of the beliefs that they have. And it's really beautiful to see how the. Country has become. Famous or known for other countries because of the food. It's really interesting how the countries. Become I'm known.

Orador 2

Yes, I'm, I'm agree. I think it's pretty interesting how the Mexican dishes had created and their origin and. Experimenters and have the combination of countries and cultures can have as a consequence dish and an iconic dish like mole. That is, I think is a symbol of of the Mexican culture. And yeah, I think it's a. Very delicious plate.

Orador 1

So do you want to talk about your dishes?

Orador 2

Yes, I can start now. I'm going to talk about the paella, that is a Spanish dish. And it's. I think when you thought about Spain is the first dish that came into your mind. And that's because. Has a lot of. It was created a long, long time ago and has his origins in the Valencia region and where Rice was cultivated and for. Me it is a. Dish that I really like it because I really love seafood and this dish. Has the particularly particularity of combined. Pork. You know, meat, like pork or chicken, and also seafood and. You know rice that is the main ingredient there and it has a peculiarity of have a yellow color because of a spice that is cultivated in La Mancha, regional place in Spain, that is called saffron. And I think it's a mix of everything. Rice, vegetable, seafood, meat. And it's pretty interesting how this played has been around the world and I think everyone knows about it and. Also is is like a symbol of family and. It represents like the. The good values about their families in in Spain, and it's a very traditional play played. I am. Because it represents like the. Their reunions in in the in the country, the reunions in the family. And it has been a really popular plate also it has like there are a lot of, there's a lot of constants in the in Spain to create the Best Buy. Yeah. And I think it's yeah, it's like a symbol to the culture. And you know, Mexicans have. Created the payer and arise the payer to their own style and it's very interesting how every person in every country has adequate the. The recipe recipe. So that's my opinion. I really like the paella. I think it has lots of flavor and I really like it. So I don't know guys, what do you think about it? Do you like the Paya?

Orador 1

Well, personally I haven't tried it. I haven't. Yeah, but I don't really think I'm going to like it because it mixes and combined seafood and meat and. Rice, I think it has like a mix of so much flavors that I think I don't going to like it. But also when I think about moler. It's the same. It's a mix of so many ingredients and so many flavors. And I still like it. So I think I'm going to, I have to try, but I got to really know if I'm going to like it or not.

Orador 4

In my case, I remember that I once tried by yeah, and I remember also all all the colors in the dish. And I really like it because I think that it's. And you. Like a new flavors in that dish and also in my opinion, I think that this kind of dishes has like a different way to be prepared depending on the on the family and and as my partner say. In Spain there there are a lot of contents about this dish, because I think that just each person has a different way to prepare the the same thing. And yes, I also one thing that I like about Maya is that it has shrimps. And yes, I really like shrimps and.

Orador 3

I think that it's really interesting how this dish has a lot of different flavors in on it, because it's really. Not weird, but rare, that, uh, in a dish. A different, uh, kind of ingredients so. It's really interesting to to try these kind of dishes and also it's pretty interesting to know how the country reflects all of the culture and tradition. In this dish, in the in the dishes. So yes. And now I'm gonna talk about the lasagna and choose this dish because it's pretty delicious. And as the. Paella has a little of different flavors and it's really, uh, interesting how this all of the these these ingredients. Has a combination and has a combination of. Flavors and also beliefs traditions of the country. The lasagna is a. Is originally for from Italia specifically, specifically from the Emilia Roman region. Uh. And the lasagna today is emblematic dish of Italia, obviously, and it's like a symbol of the countries and. Of the country rich culinary tradition and Italian and. hospitality And this dish become popular in the United States specifically. In New York. And then of all of the world, and when you know, you hear about lasagna, you automatically think that it is from Italia and it's and that reflects how the dish. It's become popular the country and it's. Part of the all of the people and the culture and traditions of the country. And yeah, what do you think about the this dish? Have you ever tried it?

Orador 2

Yes, in my case I I have a try it like all my childhood. I remember that was a dish that I really like it and I really enjoy it. I think it has a lot of flavor and my favorite part about it is the cheese. Yeah.

Orador 1

Well, in my case I've tried it but so. Little times. Well, uh-huh. Just like three times all my life. But I agree. It's very delicious. And the mixer of their flavors. I really like them all. I really like all the ingredients it has by separate, like the. The meat I like the pasta. I love the cheese. Also it has, I think, two different types of sauce. That is bechamel and Bolognesi. I don't know how to say. It in English. But yeah, I really like the. Its ingredients by separate and I think mixed together. They make such a good plate and dish.

Orador 4

I think that, for example, the lasagna, in my case it was one of my favorite dishes when I. As well, like a few years ago. And I think that the mix between the meat and sauce and paste it's it's a good mix in this dish. And I really like the cheese that it's above all the dish. And yes, I did that. I don't know a lot about this dish. But at least the the lasagnas that I have tried, they were very good and I really recommend to eat lasagna at least once in your life because it's a good recipe. And.

Orador 2

Yes, I'm agree. I agree. And I think that in general, like all day, Italian food is pretty delicious. UMI, like all the. Like the. The species that they used to their dishes, I think there are really good and gourmet ingredients talking about flavors and recipes, something that is also related with this is a dish that I really like.

Orador 4

It's one of my favorites nowadays, and it's the sushi, but I think that the sushi that. Is sell here in Mexico is different than the sushi in? Japan, and I think that it's also for the mix of cultures migration and also for the. To adapt the dish to the culture here in Mexico and the the sushi that is sell here in Mexico, I like it. But I would like to try the sushi that is from Japan. And I think that's something that it's. Like characteristic from Mexico in this dish is that you can find where which is like burrito, sushi or Taco sushi, something like that. So it's very different way to prepare sushi. Also, because the traditional sushi has, it's like Tini, then the Mexican sushi. And here in Mexico, you can find spicy sushi, or with avocado or something that is not from the original sushi. Have you ever tried sushi?

Orador 1

I haven't. I haven't tried sushi like never. I've tried. Like other Asian food, like Chinese food. The sushi? No, I really haven't. And I think it's very interesting, interesting that the mix of cultures have made sushi from Mexico to be so different from the sushi from Japan. And as Julie says, Mexican sushi could be like. Yes, very different and very versatile and has so much things it has sometimes like meat instead of fish, and I think it's really, really interesting how the culture influences.

Orador

The.

Orador 1

The the way we cook and the way we prepare food from other countries. Uh, some people might, uh, find the changes to the other countries dishes. Uh, very like a little disrespectful, but I think uh changes depending on. Social and cultural aspects are more like attribute and are natural thing that happens when you eat food that isn't from your country and you want to adapt to the things you like. And the ingredients you have available where you are.

Orador 2

Yes, I I think I find also very interesting how the culture of a country can adapt and change a recipe. And but I actually really like the the adaptation of Mexico to the sushi. My favorite 1 is like that one that has like arrachera instead of another. You know shrimp for example and but yeah, I I try it like I don't know maybe. Four or five years ago, I I tried for my first time the sushi and I I really like it. And. And yeah, I think it's one of the the most delicious food that exists in the world.

Orador 3

I I am I agree with you as the. Uh, I really like the sushi is one of my favorite dishes and the sushi I think, is one of the most popular dishes in the world. And it's pretty interesting how every country adopt this dish and they sell the people the. Sushi of. It's country. In Japan, the people it's, uh, healthier. So the sushi in Japan, it's more like. The sushi in Japan, it's more light. So the people in Japan eats healthier than people in other countries. And the adoption of this dish, for example in Mexico, it's totally different. As Japan.

Orador 1

And have you ever tried another dish that you would like to talk about it?

Orador 2

Well, I'm. I'm not very much of trying new dishes from like other countries, so the most part of my knowledge or nouns about kitchen and gastronomy and. Yeah. Kitchen in general are Mexican. And yeah, I I don't think I have tried many international food. What about you?

Orador 3

For example, for me, I think that I have tried different dishes from, for example Asian food. And also. Italian food. And. Yes, I think that this kind of dishes has a special way to be prepared and also a special flavor because. All the sauces or in the case of the asian food, the way that they are prepared, it's unique in and very different that than the Mexican food. But yes, I think that if I if I had the opportunity to keep trying different dishes from the. Different parts of. World. I will try it.

Orador 4

Well, I I have tried it Chinese food and I I like it. I really like the rice from there. And they they're like little bowls of, I don't know what is pork or chicken, I don't know, but I I I found it very delicious. And what else some. Maybe no. I think just Chinese food and maybe American food like hamburgers and uh-huh pizza. But I I think that Mexican is for too much the best food in the world.

Orador 3

OK.

Orador 1

Yes, I I also like the Chinese food and the Italian food. I think the the Italian food is one of the dishes that. You can. You can. You can find in any place because this dish is is too famous. And it's really interesting how the country is known because of the dishes and also it's interesting how the country, for example Mexico, adapt the dish and they sell it in with with its. This special thing. I don't know.

Orador 3

I think that in this case that uh, for these dates that are near the Independence Day, it's very important. The Mexican food here in Mexico. So for example, in your house, what are the kind of foods that you used to prepare when it's Independence Day? In my case, in my house and they used to prefer a BBQ or puzzle and you.

Orador 2

Yes, in my house, my mom makes pozole. And honestly, her pozole is like the best I've ever tried. And and yes, I usually help her with. Cleaning the kitchen.but also the the ingredients like the. Boring and things like that. And like cutting the lettuce and things like that that are easy but take time. So the person is ready in time. Cause also my family is huge. I am the. The younger of five siblings. And my sisters, they all have, like their families now, and they go to my house and we all eat. So my mom has to make. So much for solely and takes a lot of time.

Orador 4

Well, in my case this in these holidays, my my grandmother used to prepare also posole and she really likes to to do like tamales every even in Christmas. It's like always if there is a holiday. Mexican holiday there will be tamales there. And what else also like? Yeah, and tacos. You know, all the Mexican typical dishes, enchiladas, everything. But mostly, yeah. Posole and tamales. And. Yeah, I I realized that in this, this. Time of the year and September and November is when you realize how important is the food in in Mexico and how it it is. It has a lot of meaning, the Mexican food.

Orador 1

Uh, in my case in these days, my family prepare zolillo is kind of similar to the posole. But the polio, it's prepared with the corn. Literally not the corn of the the corn, the normal corn. Yeah, and it's. The delicious its color is like green and they prepare with. With one. My family prepared the pozolillo with green tomato and this flavor is really delicious. Mix it with the corn and they also prepare the normal pozole, the Red 1 and tamales and all. I totally get together to the dinner and it's really beautiful how an special day can. Get together and the family and. Yeah, that's one of the dishes that my family prepared to this this day.

Orador 3

I think that also inside of uh on the same recipe, for example, between us, we have different ways to prepare the same dish and I don't know if you have like any special recipe inside of your family and if you want to share with us.

Orador 2

Well, my mom has a special way to cook because she follows the recipes from my both grandmothers. Uhm, but also when she doesn't like, uh, like a flavor or something that the recipe has, uh, she changes it to something that she knows we all in my house would like it. And I don't know if if she has like. The specific recipe that is like famous about her but. But I only can think about the mole that my mother makes and is the recipe of my originally of my grandmother. And it's like the most delicious thing. I've ever tried so far. I think that recipe is special because. I mean, all the more preparations has, like, sweet and also chillies and spices that my mother has like a unique way to do it that is like a balance of the sweetness and the spicy. And I don't. Know it's it's so good. What about you? You have, like, a dish in mind.

Orador 4

Yes, well my. I mean, my mom cook very well, but I think she's more into, like, healthy food and not like the typical Mexican. But my grandma, she is like the queen of the of the kitchen in in my home. So yeah. Probably. I think she can cook whatever kind of recipe and she can do it. But. One special recipe for her would be like capital. She make the capirotada in a special way because she used. Like the bolillo and then. I I don't know very well the recipe, but I know that she put bolillo and then. She put them uh flan over the bolillo and then she like, let the plan to to cook. Yeah, to. To get in, in shape. And then she adds, she mix that with raisings. And maybe some new. Not. And in. Yeah, she then she. Cut the the bread. Uh-huh. And put the capirotada. But I think it's special because if you go to to another place to buy the the capirotada is different. The preparation. I don't know. I don't find similar the capirotada That who that is selled that capital that makes my my grandmother and another recipe. Probably the tamales. Like I told you before, my grandmother always has tamales in the kitchen and. She makes the tamales also very different because they are not too big. There are there are like very little and in shape, talking about shape. And she used the banana. Banana leaves and. To the tamal and or also she she she sometimes bought the the lips for the special for the time out for the tamales and and and she put inside of the Tamil and beans or cheese. Or sometimes with green sauce or red sauce. But yeah, it's it's a special hair way to cook. And what about?

Orador 1

I think that the pozolillo, it's one of the recipes that my my grandmother makes. I've never heard about it. The portfolio in restaurants or or something. Have you ever heard about the pozolillo? No, I think that that recipe is is thoroughly from my grandmother. Also the marshmallow salad my grandmother makes that salad with. Apple marshmallow nuts. And other things I don't remember, but that recipe also I never hear about about it in restaurants or something just in my house in Christmas. And I think that's one of the. All the recipes of my family makes.

Orador 3

Especially in my house for the part of my mom, my my grandmother and my mom, she they made green mole. And it's something that I also know how to prepare and it's very easy. And also it's very delicious because it's the ingredients. If you heard about them are weird to mix because it's lettuce, cream, chili and. The meat and it's very easy to prepare, but yes, I think that it's something special because it has like. I don't know like a way to be prepare and and also because I learned this from my mom and she learned that from my grandmother. And yes, I think that that's it. Well, I think that we can find a special food out of our our city of our country, but also we can find special food inside of our family. And I think that that is that is something important to share. What do you?

Orador 4

Yeah, I think the same. I think it's very important to persuade the the culture in our home and in our in our country and the traditions in in food. And it's very interesting how everyone has a different way to to eat and to. Proper with special dishes.

Orador 2

Also, I think it's very interesting how the food is like a point of union between. Or families and between people from other countries inclusive. And as my classmates have said, it's important to preserve this part of the culture and this part of what makes us human and yeah.

Orador 1

My reflection of this this meeting. Is that it's really beautiful to understand when how the dishes reflect the culture of the country and how the dishes also can get together people and can get together. People of other countries. And we can find a mix of countries and beliefs, traditions in all of these dishes. And I think that will be all, thank you.
